I feel like we are at the beginning of a “remodel” here with Summer Ray. It is defined as, “change the structure or form of (something; shape (a figure or object) again or differently.” While in the process of remodeling, we are also “renovating.” It is defined as, “restore (something old, especially a building) to a good state of repair.” We are also “restructuring.” It is defined as, a “reorganization of a company with a view to achieving greater efficiency and profit.” And we are looking to, “rebrand.” This is defined as, “Rebranding is the creation of a new look and feel for an established product or company. The usual goal of rebranding is to influence a customer’s perception about a product or service or the company overall by revitalizing the brand and making it seem more modern and relevant to the customer’s needs.” Oh now I need to define, “revitalize.” It is defined as, “to give new life, energy, activity or success to something.” I remember talking to our Fiscal Sponsor’s daughter, Carole Joyce. That was close to six years ago. But Wow! We are still with the project. On February 09, 2023 in a few weeks, we will be starting our 14th year. It is proven that we are absolutely committed to our film (pilot) getting made and distributed. But I do believe we are at a place where we need to do the above with all of the “re’s.” We must build a better and more professional brand. I feel like I am in the process of a remodel. I am getting a new professional signature; learning how to pitch with a better, cleaner and crisper look and sound; and I am searching for film funding with the KNOWING, I will finally receive it. It took a while to get that confidence. But I know the finish product will be a masterpiece. Take for instance, this skating program that I am working on.

Right now, it certainly is not in its final form. There is so much work to be done on it. But once it is ready, it will be a dream come true for me. But until then, my coach Cathy and I,
we are constantly upgrading the program. I am also continuing to learn new skills and new moves that once I master them, they are also added. But with the costume, hair, makeup, background like the Rockefeller Center Ice Rink,whether in person or via greenscreen, is going to be epic. I simply cannot wait to see it all come together. But until then (again), it is a constant, consistent work in progress!
I recently read an article that said how Hollywood needs leading ladies who are over 50. Well, when I finally get to skate this program I will be in my early 60’s. Right now I am 60. So, it is possible, I will film this program at 61. The leading Summer Ray in the pilot, is in her early 30’s. But after the first book, the leading Summer Ray is in fact, in her 50s and she progressively ages. Age cannot be something that is frowned upon, or blacklisted because of young stereotypes. But somehow, the story of Summer Ray, has managed to touch the lives of so many different ages and that to me is a gift that I whole heartedly cherish. It causes me to work even harder and it helps me to want to create a cinematic masterpiece. But, this all takes time, precision, quality and enough funding to not have to cut corners. I don’t mind the use of a green screen, as long as it depicts the real thing as natural. I do not want things to look green screened. But, I just need to trust the director and producers will take this project to heart and will treat it with as much love and dedication that I do.
