I am retiring the original Summer Ray book series, once all of the new, “The Memoirs of Summer Ray,” volumes are completed.
Each new book, is based on the original books and will be stated on the back covers. I will post when VOLUME 1 is released and the link.
This is the final book cover for the new series. I did add Mike, my twin brother, who passed away to the back photo with his jacket. This will be the main cover for the entire 8 volume series, except Volume 1 will change to Volume 2 etc. There is a lot going on in the picture. Yes! That is blood on the left side that is also on me. I actually didn’t plan it and when I added the effect, I had to step away from my desk and go crochet.
It represents the Blood of Jesus – who died on a Cross for us; it represents the blood of the soldiers – the cannon represents war; it represents Summer Ray’s blood (but you need to read the story to know why) and it also represents in further books the blood of the Unknown Confederate soldiers and how they cry tears of blood every time one of their officers are dug up and interred, or a statue removed and melted down.
It is very profound and emotional at the same time. I cannot even imagine scenes where Unknown Confederate soldiers are crying tears of blood, as they are ghosts. But we have to start with the pilot script, which is only 1/4 of this first book. This is a huge project and I cannot wait to get started with production.
