When an award winning producer/director/actor tells me my script, “is good,” well into our 13th year of the project, I can only shout for joy! I actually hit rock bottom after the sudden death of my beloved twin brother, Mike. I was drowning in grief. I am still in shock, but starting to swim a little more.
I had asked the Lord to help me make this project one of excellence. It is defined as: “the quality of being outstanding or extremely good; distinction – excellence that sets someone or something apart from others.”
I learned the virtue of excellence from Apostle Louise Banks. She pastored a church in Frederick, Maryland for many years. I always wanted to be like her. By asking God to help me make this project excellent, I couldn’t stop improving it, until it reached that level. Rewrites, edits, changes in the book covers etc. etc. etc., it took a very long time. But, I finally understand why. If I had asked God for mediocre, I would have been finished with the project by now because it wouldn’t have lifted off the ground. We have to always strive for excellence. I want to give people their monies worth. I don’t anyone to buy a book, or pay to see the film and then hate it. I don’t want anyone to feel empty. To story of Summer Ray is meant to fill people up with a lot of different emotions, longing for the next episode of, “What happens next?” It is a heavy responsibility. I feel I have done my job because the script is finally where it needs to be and I am very happy about that. Louna, a partial owner of my film company SostarSun Productions,
is finally on board with going after the funding. This is HUGE! God used her to pull the reigns in on me for years because it wasn’t the right time, and for her to finally agree we need to get funded, Wow! I’m on it. I know that it IS God’s timing now and things will start to happen and happen fast! It’s exciting. I even updated our fundraiser.
