I have had to take a few weeks off from Summer Ray, due to the busyness of life! So much so, I was freaking out that I wouldn’t have time to get back to the project. But here I am. We are working on a “Proof of Concept” video; I am taking an “Intentional Filmmaking Class,” with our Fiscal Sponsor www.fromtheheartproductions.com; as well as still submitting the script to various film festivals.
I love what Carole Dean has on the From the Heart website about the class.

Intent is defined as: “resolved or determined to do (something); purpose.”
Purpose is defined as: the reason for which something is done; created; or for which something exists; motivation; a plan.” The Bible states:
“Where there is no vision, the people perish.” Proverbs 29:18
Since February 09, 2009, I have had a vision for Summer Ray. The difficulty is, the vision has expanded to something far greater in capacity, then I could have ever imagined back when this story first began. Seven books later, and all have to be put into script form. My vision for Summer Ray has not changed, other than it has been enhanced. But this driving force inside my being to bring this story to life – even on the days I feel defeated – the vision keeps the intent and the purpose moving forward. Without the vision of the story – there can be no intent. There would be no purpose either. But Summer Ray is filled with purpose, and it will take the vision and the intent to accomplish it all.
I am ever so thankful God led me to Carole Dean of From the Heart Productions.
She and her staff are filled with film funding knowledge and I am like a sponge that absorbs all I can. I am so excited to be taking her “Intentional Filmmaking” class with Tom Malloy. I can’t get discouraged at how long this project seems to be taking. I have to simply do the next steps that are in front of me and right now – the goals I stated above are what is in front of me. If I try to look at the bigger picture, I will definitely be overwhelmed. I am happy that after a few weeks, I am back to working on the project. I am getting my focus back and I am getting ready to tackle the goals head on.
