I saw this incredible photo on Facebook of a woman leaning out over the side of the boat, kissing the forehead of what looked to be a humpback whale. I was jealous, of course. I mean who wouldn’t be. But the Lord spoke to me and said, “In order to have something like that happen, you have to get out of your comfort zone and get off land where you are so comfortable.” I am also reminded of a quote, “Why not go out on a limb? That’s where all the fruit is.” It has been said that both Mark Twain and Will Rogers said something like it. So, I acknowledge them both. Playing it safe, is risky. “Out on a limb” is defined as: in or into a dangerous or uncompromising position, where one is not joined or supported by anyone else; vulnerable. “She’s prepared to go out on a limb and do something different.” It is safe to say that I will not be kissing any humpback whales on land. It is safe to say that if I don’t climb out on a limb, I won’t be be able to reach the good fruit. A lot of fruit that falls to the ground is already rotted.
So what does all of this have to do with Summer Ray? Well, everything. I cannot stay in what is comfortable to me. I HAVE to get used to talking to people, even if I have damaged vocal cords. I think humanness is missing from a lot of our way of life. We take selfies and then primp them all up with filters – guilty.

But the point is, it is good to be our true selves. I love makeup. I love matte filters. But I also need to show me. The bottom pic is me as me. I have to get out of what is comfortable and gain some much needed confidence. I am 100% confident the pilot script is ready to go. I am confident in the story. What I lack still, is my ability to go out into the world and physically ask for funding. I am great at sending out packages, blogs, and even asking online. Which are all great things to be doing. But I still need to leave the comfort of the ground, and crawl out on those limbs, and leave the safety net of the seashore and venture out into unknown waters with full trust, I will find what I am in need of/ or what I am dreaming of. God will not fail me nor forsake me. He just won’t! But I have to be full of conviction that He is with me. Of course He is, but do I always know it? Do I always believe it? This is what I do believe. Peter in the Bible toiled all night and caught nothing. When Jesus told him to try again and “launch out into the deep,” Peter obeyed him and tried again. They caught so many fish their boats were sinking and they had to call for help. WOW! JUST WOW! To have to call for help because we are growing so much would be astonishing. It would mean that we are reaching the multitude for Him! So, I need to also obey Him and throw our Summer Ray nets out into the deep. The deep could be across the street and asking for donations. It could be California. It could be in another country. I do KNOW that we will meet our budget and more!
