In the world of Figure Skating, teenage girls and women, are working on quads. This is something that only men used to do. I am not against females accomplishing such an amazing feat because of the amount of training this takes. But to lose the artistry, grace and elegance for a techincal move, is quite sad. A triple jump is enough. Women’s figure skating is the whole package. But focusing on quad jumps, truly puts the other elements on the back burner.
I came across a blog I wrote a while back.
“After an awesome consultation with our film’s Fiscal Sponsor (From the Heart Productions), it is time to reinvent how we are going to go about raising our funding. “Reinvent” is defined as – to makeover; improve; make completely new; to give a fresh face to; and to change the appearance of something to make it better. The phrase, “don’t invent the wheel” doesn’t apply in our case. The wheel, thus far, has not been as successful as we had hope. So, what do we do? We reinvent what we have and we work on improving it. This includes our fundraising campaign – we start over; writing news articles; finding ways to bring the book series into the foreground, instead of on the back burner; and so on. We have to breathe new life into our project and create a new energy and interest.”

The word, “back burner” was mentioned again. When we put things on the back burner, they are not as important as something else or that something that we were working on is now postponed. I did this with the book series, so that I could concentrate fully on the screenplay and pilot. But I didn’t take my own advice. I didn’t find “ways to bring the book series to the foreground, instead of on the back burner.” Or perhaps, it wasn’t time to focus on the books, because so much needed to be finished before I could. Whatever the reason, I am now concentrating on the book series and getting them out in the world. After I re-read them, I realized that although the TV series will be awesome, there are some written things in the books that I can’t re-create via TV. This means that parts of the story will still be left out, including some of Summer’s thoughts and views which are incredibly important, too important to forget. The picture below is the first book, This Fair and Blighted Land – Volume 1. This is where the story began. If you wish to purchase the book, simply click on the cover and it will take you to amazon.com. This book took years to create. It was my first real novel and well, I wanted it to be perfect. But it is now perfect enough for me, and hopefully for you too, (if you read it)! It has over 65,000 words and it takes time to digest all of the story plots and learning about the characters.
In the meantime, we are still raising funds so our Line Producer can work on the budget for the pilot, and we need to pay the Entertainment Attorney. If you would like to donate to our project, please click on the picture below and it will take you to our fundraiser. Donating via this site, all donations are tax deductible. We also have some really COOL perks. We so greatly appreciate your support of our project! Thank you~
