Greetings from sweltering Gettysburg! Jason and I will be walking Pickett’s Charge tomorrow on the 163rd anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg. Normally, this walk is in the afternoon. But the heat is too dangerous to do it then. On July 4th, the last and final book in the series is released. Many thanks to Mr. Curt Radabaugh for allowing me to photograph him for this cover.

I have put myself in one of those sink or swim situations. I have signed up for a lot of film classes with our fiscal sponsor From the Heart Productions www.fromtheheartproductions.com! Writing and publishing I understand. I do have some knowledge of the film industry. But these classes are so incredibly hands on. Like I have to talk to people and share my work. I can do that in the books and the scripts. I can do that with the photography and the videos. But sharing and talking to people, is not a skill I have acquired yet. I sit in my happy office alone most of the day. But these classes are meant to pull me out of my comfort zone, and to help me learn these new skills. It is why I felt the need to jump right in and just be a grown up about it. I need to invest my time, money, energy in to learning more about the film industry, and how I need to present the film and myself. It is the next step. It is definitely out of my comfort zone. But I will do what I need to do. I am so blessed by FTH, and I am ever so grateful to God that I stumbled upon them so many years ago. But the one thing I cannot do, is compare my project to others. I cannot be intimidated they they might be further along that I am. Every project is different. I just finished the series a few weeks ago. I maintained my commitment to get the books updated and finished. I kept that commitment. Now, I have new goals to be committed to, from July 1st to December 31st. I just have to set my face toward the challenges, and take each class as an opportunity to learn more about this amazing business. I have to continue to see it this way, so I don’t panic. But remember how much I panicked trying to reach the prior six months goals? Yikes! But as long as I stay organized, and as long as I am dedicated to getting to class on time and being prepared, I will be okay. Each class brings us closer to starting production and that is something to rejoice about.
Happy Happy 4th of July! America’s 250th anniversary of our INDEPENDENCE! It is such an amazing thing to witness and to be a part of.
