Today is one of those, “I don’t feel like it days.” I just want to have some whine and/or wine with my pity party. What do you do when you have worked so hard for so long and delays have been rampant? Well, we can either quit or move forward. But if we quit, all the time we “worked so hard for,” will be lost. We are going in directions every second of everyday. If we quit in the middle of our journey, we will have to start all over again with something else. Truly, that is not an option – at least not for me with Summer Ray.

So I got creative and started working again on some of our Summer Ray merchandise.

Big Round Top; Gettysburg Pa
Where the story of Summer Ray began!

The story actually did start in the winter of February 2009. So, snow is part of the real beginning. I just looked at my Bible that sits on my desk and scripture I read was, “Lift up the light of Your face over us.” Psalm 4:6. The NLT, “Many people say, ‘Who will show us better times?’ Let your face smile on us, LORD.” With what the world is dealing with, many people are truly asking, “Who will show us better times.”  “I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.” Psalm 121:1.

When I get into these, “I don’t feel like it days,” I also remember something Steven Spielberg once said, “This is a time when we need to smile more and Hollywood movies are supposed to do that for people in difficult times.

This is the why we keep going, the above scriptures are the how we keep going!

With Summer Ray, we want to help people smile more in difficult times, such as what we are seeing now and have been the past year. It is not and has not been an easy road. But having God’s help with the “how” we help people smile more, is the light that is shining on our project! To Him be the glory. We will not quit. Our goal is to light the world, and when we promote Jesus – who is the “Light of the World” (John 8:12) – even in the darkest of nights, one little twinkling star can shine through it. Let’s all do our part to help people smile more!
