With the elections coming up, I have spent the last several months focused mostly on politics. For most of us, this has been an exhausting uphill battle. Added with the pandemic, it has been quite stressful. If there has been additional issues, like me with an injured airway and vocal cords – the burdens can become too heavy to bear. If it were not for Jesus…and being able to rely on His strength, I know I would be in a lot worse shape.
In this business, it is not uncommon for people to come on board and then just when you think it’s a great set up, in the drop of a hat it changes. In this business one must be resilient to instant and constant change. Resilient is defined as, “Able to withstand or recover quickly from difficult conditions.” I like to think of it as being able to bounce back after a storm – like a palm tree.
Palm trees are made by God to be able to withstand hurricane force winds. They are made to bend. But after the storm, they bounce right back up and keep on being a palm tree. “The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree.” Psalm 92:12. I like to think that Summer Ray is also flourishing like a palm tree. It is for certain that we have had our share of severe hurricane gale force storms. When I looked down at my “HOLLYWOOD” snow globe, right there inside it, is a palm tree.
This is confirmation that Summer Ray will and is flourishing. Storms they come and go. But we at Summer Ray bounce back even better and even stronger. It is my understanding that every time a storm comes, and every time the palm trees get bent over, it is a sign for the roots to dig deeper so that they will not be uprooted. They refuse to fail. It’s such an amazing picture of what God is doing with Summer Ray. We are digging our roots in deeper. We are refusing to be taken out, or pulled out by the storms that come our way. We are also refusing to fail.
I have never been where I am now with this project. So, this means I am also learning the ropes as I go. I am learning how to prepare the project, for a presentation. We only get one chance to make a fantastic first impression. Preparation is the key. God has blessed us with a truly amazing Entertainment Attorney. He is just one more root to our system that is helping us to dig deeper, to keep us from being overpowered by the storms. God is indeed good! I thank Him everyday for His hand on this project.
