I am in the process of moving from four floors to only one floor. This is my transition home until I buy my own. I am typing from an end table. My desk that I was so very proud of, is too big to fit in the new place and had to be moved to storage. But, at least I get to buy a new desk. I did not think this was going to happen. But, it did and I have to be willing to adapt. Sometimes, the acts of other people cause what seems like problems in our own lives. But, it is just in how you look at it. The word adapt is defined as to make useful for a new place; modify; change; revamp; reshape; reconstruct and reorganize. The definition that stands out to me the most is revamp. It is defined as renovate; redecorate; recondition; improve the form of; or a new and improved version of. I cannot begin to tell you how many times I have “revamped” the books and the screenplay. I am sure the screenplays to follow will be revamped many times as well. But, this is what it takes to make something the very best it can be. So, I am not too terribly upset about this new transition home. I know it is just another stepping stone. I will have so much less to take care of and much more time to work on the film.
After having some time today to ponder all that we have had to work through, in my heart of hearts I have to say this, “Do not let anyone put their own limitations on you.” You have to be able to think, feel and act for yourself. So many people have limited their own lives and feel at times, they have the right to limit what we do in ours. NO! Shake the dust of their unbelief off your feet and keep walking. You don’t have to listen to other people’s doubts. I have 100% belief that God will fund this film. I do not know how. But I don’t have to know. It is not my job to know until He decides to tell me. The ways we have tried have been unsuccessful that is true. But, it doesn’t mean the right way isn’t just up around the corner. Because it most definitely is. This is what I feel very strongly for us right now. The past, is the past. We don’t have to keep ground around the same mountain again and again. I believe God is bringing us out of the wilderness to our land of milk and honey. We may have to face other sets of giants, but if God is for us, who can be against us? We have come too far to turn back now. In fact, the old is gone. We don’t have to linger around the grave yards of failures any longer. Where we are heading, is a land full of fruit and great success.
I am very proud of those who have stood by this project. I believe wholeheartedly that the story of Summer Ray is meant for such a time as this. It is a family film series that has human ups and downs. But, it is surrounded by the wonderment of both true historical events and fictional characters. With so much darkness in this world, this film series will bring a happy escape, from the sorrowful events that the human mind simply cannot comprehend.
This is an original story that has never been done before. I think that makes us pretty special. We are unique. We are new. We are a refreshing cool brook, to the same old stagnant repeat films of Hollywood. We have something to offer society that many films just do not provide. Summer Ray is a story of hope. It is a message of courage and it is a mission and labor of love. We care deeply about those of you who will read the books and see the films. We want you to gain something of lasting value from them. If we can help brighten your day, that in itself will most certainly brighten ours.
