THE MEMOIRS OF SUMMER RAY

Greetings from Gettysburg:

So, I finally started the decorating of the books. Below is an experiment. I am still learning how to do this.

But each book will have something pertaining to each volume. In this case, the 1st book This Fair and Blighted Land is mostly set in Gettysburg. I am still adding to it. But so far, I am getting the gist of how it is supposed to be. Once I have a good inventory, I will add them to the “SHOP” page to this website. (www.thememoirsofsummerray.com) It will be a few more months. But at least I am heading in that direction. So, I will have some books decorated (definitely with various types of wrapping paper) and some without. I will post details soon. I am also working on getting and creating more Summer Ray merchandise.

Hiking season has started here in Gettysburg. I don’t go near the trails in the summer. I am not fond of snakes. But as soon as the weather starts to change, Jason and I head to the trails. This is actually Big Round Top where I am at. It is where the story of Summer Ray first began. We hike all around the mountain – a small one at that compared to others around the US. I get it! LOL!

I also cannot wait to take more winter pictures. This is Big Round Top from Confederate Avenue with the Bushman Farm.

It does get a little steep and it’s a great work out. I feel more at home here, at times, then I do in the town. If it were not for the battlefields, I would move. Gettysburg is surely not what it used to be. I often wonder if the glory days are gone forever. I am thankful I got to experience the real Gettysburg. I wrote about it before it was overtaken by politics. This was when reenactors graced the town everyday and everywhere. They bring the history to life! This is Jason as the Union Lt. I am currently also working on finishing volume 1 The Memoirs of Summer Ray.

In the original series, you get to know the characters. In the “Memoirs” series, you get to experience more of Summer Ray’s first person point of view, and the depth of her emotions and how she interacts with those characters. It gets intense. But I wanted to create something that will help readers and viewers who might be struggling.
