THE MEMOIRS OF SUMMER RAY

Greetings from Gettysburg! 🙂

There are a lot of exciting things in the news about Noah’s Ark. But I couldn’t help but remember his journey on how the ark came to rest on Mt. Ararat. It took Noah between 75 to 100 years to build the ark. Some say 120. But let’s stick to the approximate 75-100 years. It also never rained before.

“For the Lord God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground; but there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.” Genesis 2: 5-6 (KJV)

Now, there again, whether it rained before or not is in question, like the amount of years it took to build the ark. However, the point is, Noah feared God. He did what the Almighty instructed him to do.

“By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house.” Hebrews 11:17 (KJV)

“Not seen as yet.” I cannot imagine the mockery Noah and his family had to deal with. Year after year after year, of building this huge ark, without any proof of what it was needed for. It could not have been easy, especially since it took what seemed like forever to build. But Noah continued in spite of what he and his family may of suffered. I imagine discouragement must have set in, because let’s be real here. Seventy-five to a hundred years, is a long time to be working on something only by faith. I really don’t have anything to complain about, seeing how I have only been working on this project a little longer than seventeen and a half years. We now live in a very fast paced, instant gratification world. If things aren’t done within a specific time period, it must be a failure, right? Wrong! It isn’t how God works. He has had to mature me with this growing project. God gave Noah very specific instructions on how to build the ark. He gives me instructions, but not all at once. It is a step by step process. I choose to follow what I know in my heart is God’s will. But do other people see it that way? Have they seen success from the books or is the film produced yet? No! And because that answer is a, “no” to both accounts, they do not have much faith in what I am doing. I imagine Noah must have felt that disappointment as well. I am misunderstood because I have been working behind the scenes, for many many years without the success to back it up yet. I get weary and sometimes greatly discouraged. But I know this is God’s will and I refuse to quit. Noah refused to quit and he saved his family and the entire human race after the flood came from him. We cannot possibly fathom who we can help, if we refuse to quit like Noah did.

Recap on 2026! Many amazing things happened this year. The original Summer Ray story was finally completed. It was published on July 4th, on the 250th anniversary of America’s independence, with General George Washington on the cover. I could not have planned for that when I first started the series. I met Curt Radabaugh and he is our GW in the film. But I didn’t know he would be on the cover of the final book.

The original books all have their own ISBNs (except for the 7th hardback volume. It will have one soon). But I am the now the official publisher.

Harbor Love Productions also was created.

But to some, the above might not seem like a lot because of the $ signs. But these things are necessary, for the foundation of the success of the both the books and the live action series. Noah had to build the ark. What if he just stopped because he got tired of not seeing any proof of its success? I have had to, and I am still in the process of building this project. They laughed at Noah till it rained. They mocked him till it rained. It doesn’t feel good to be laughed at or mocked for our beliefs. But I would rather do what God said to do. Regardless, if I have had to do by faith. I know He will see this through. I don’t ever doubt that. I do get weary of the time it is taking. But when I see movement like I have seen this year (17 1/2 years into the project), I get very excited. I know we are getting closer to the project taking off and finally soaring.

I refuse to quit! It will not happen. I have to keep going, stick it out, and continue to believe God!
