OUR IMAGINATIVE HORIZONS!

Greetings from Gettysburg:

I am now working on The Memoirs of Summer Ray Volume 1. I am editing it and soon it will also have its new ISBN. This book will be a 2nd edition one. The turmoil in this book brought me to tears, as it dives more into Summer’s battles.

I also changed the genres Christian/Fantasy to Faith -Based/Fantasy and here is why. In her article Jessica Davis states:

Faith-based fantasy literature offers a fresh way to experience timeless themes like hope, redemption, and courage. It’s not just about dragons or enchanted realms; it’s about discovering light in the darkest places and finding purpose in the grand adventure of life.

What makes faith-based fantasy literature stand out? It’s the seamless weaving of spiritual elements into rich, imaginative worlds. These stories often explore the battle between good and evil, but with a deeper layer of meaning rooted in faith. Characters face challenges that test their beliefs, and their journeys often mirror the struggles we face in real life.

Imagine a world where angels walk among mortals, or where a humble hero’s faith becomes their greatest strength. These narratives don’t just entertain; they inspire. They remind us that even in the most fantastical settings, the truths of faith remain powerful and relevant.

What she wrote is the exact and I mean, the exact synopsis of what the faith based/fantasy elements are in the story of Summer Ray. I was literally dumbfounded and had to write about it. But to be completely and totally honest, there is also another reason why I changed the genres.

EXCERPT – The Memoirs of Summer Ray Volume 1

Its Purpose

“Two of the genres are “faith-based/fantasy.” I used to say, “Christian/fantasy.” But many people frown on “Christian” and “fantasy” being in the same sentence. We are told that if we fantasize we are in sin. The actual truth is that there are fantasies that can, in fact, lead to sin. But there are also fantasies where we use our imaginations, to create worlds that help to bring people out of Satan’s grip. God has allowed me to use my imagination combined with what I have experienced; where I live; places I have explored; amazing people I have met; and what I have had to fight myself, to create the world of Summer Ray.

I do not sugarcoat Spiritual Warfare.

In doing so, it could send someone to Hell!

Which is the exact opposite of what this series is trying to do. I have to stand before Almighty God someday and give an account of what I did with my life. If Christians who oppose this story, would actually take the time to read it, they would know its purpose!”

I think Christian books are more along the line of Bible stories and Christian self-help books. I think they are great as I have many of them on my shelves. But I think it is tremendously sad that many Christians have become so religious, that they stopped seeing the need for grace. Grace allows us to expand our imaginative horizons. I do not want to scare anyone away by using the word, “Christian.” How does that work, since I am a Christian? It can sound hypocritical. I get it. But I am not a religious Christian. I simply love God with all my heart. If people can get saved by reading this story, or by watching the films and live action episodes, I have done my job. Trust me! I have seen the judgments against me. I have even been accused of “entertaining Satan.” Which is an absolute lie. The Bible states:

And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand: And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?” Matthew 12: 25-26 (KJV)

If I am exposing Satan, I am certainly not entertaining him. But (some) Christian circles do not want to talk about the dark side of things, such as Spiritual Warfare. I cannot help but to talk about it, because the lack of bringing attention to it, is causing people to go to Hell. My conscience must remain clear before Almighty God!

He never ceases to amaze me. I had this book on my list to edit that I thought would take months. It will take a few days as it’s already half done. The trailer is half finished, and I think I will have it completed professionally. I have done what I can do. But to give it justice, it needs the help of the experts. I am excited to see it once it’s done. I will post it on the “HOME” page. www.thememoirsofsummerray.com! There are also several film festivals that I am looking at, to submit the script. I went back exploring to Big Round Top on the Gettysburg Battlefield, where the story of Summer Ray first began. I periodically go up there, just Summer Ray’n!

I am sitting at the bridge at the base of Big Round Top, across from Devil’s Den. They are written about in the story as well. Once the memoirs book is published, I will also update it on the website. This is my opinion. I think people should read the original story first, https://thememoirsofsummerray.com/the-summer-ray-books-authors-point-of-view/, then read the memoirs. In the original story, you get to know the characters, locations, etc. But the memoirs are all about Summer’s emotional journey. After you get to know her in the original series, feeling the depth of her pain and battles in the memoirs, adds a whole new level. It is how she sees her world, from her own point of view. It is also what the scripts are based on. Part of the film is narrated with Summer’s thoughts. I cannot wait to begin filming!

Once again, thank you for being a part of our Summer Ray world.
