Greetings from Gettysburg!
This is blog 528. I generally do not struggle to write. But it is 11:15PM, and I normally do not write at this time of night. But somewhere in the world it is daylight. Perhaps that it is the point of this blog. Somewhere it is daylight. I may not be able to see it yet. But somewhere the sun is starting to rise. It doesn’t matter if I can only see darkness. There again, somewhere daylight is happening.

Throughout this journey, it is has been a faith walk. I just kept putting one foot in front of the other. If you have followed along with these blogs, you know it hasn’t been easy. Right now, I am overwhelmed to the point of total exhaustion. I am up when I should be sleeping. But somewhere, it is daylight. This afternoon a scripture came to mind, “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.” Psalm 30:5 (AMPC) The night won’t last. This exhaustion will be replaced with rejuvenation. I won’t feel so worn out. In my last blog, you can see how excited I was to be concentrating more on my skating. https://thememoirsofsummerray.com/2026/08/17/rear-view-mirror/. But it comes with a cost. I am also in Physical Therapy twice a week, to help rebuild my stamina from Long Haul Covid. But it also comes with a cost and that is how I am feeling right now. Overdoing it, means I pay for it when my mind and body crash. But unfortunately, if I want to rebuild my stamina, I have to push past the barriers.
I see the barriers in this project that I also need to push past, if I want things to continue to build momentum. I absolutely love connecting across the world with my blogs. I can see all the countries and truly, I am ever so grateful. But the thoughts are always, “How do I reach more people?” Although I love Amazon, I am not reaching nearly as many people and places as I can via IngramSpark. I have gone back and forth with it, and I have decided to throw my net out there and go for it. Sometimes you just have to take that leap of faith. I haven’t been able to advance the books with Amazon as much as I have wanted. So, there again, I am jumping out of the boat like Peter did. It is work for a reason. It is not easy. Sometimes hard decisions have to be made. But if something isn’t working, then a change needs to be made for the good of the project as a whole. I am also going to be joining the Alliance of Independent Authors. Harbor Love Productions will finally be an LLC this week as well. So, good things are happening. But they are the building blocks to further the project. The trailer is also being laid out and we are working on putting it together. It is daylight somewhere in this project too. I might not feel like or see it at the moment. But that doesn’t matter. The work is the proof. If nothing was being done and we were just aimlessly floating around without a destination, then I would say we would not be serious! But each building block is important that we are working on. It is okay for me to be tired and overwhelmed. It is not okay for me to wallow in self-pity. But I also need to remember that self-care is important as well as rest. I have four more books to add to Kindle. I won’t add the digital to IS. It will stay on Amazon. I am still learning how IS works. So, it may be another month or two before the series is added to IS. But it is at least a work in progress and I can get the books into stores, libraries etc., all across the world. It gives me a great spark of light and hope just thinking about it, and maybe why I was so restless and needed to sit down and write this. It is daylight somewhere!
“Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.”
“Arise [from the depression and prostration in which circumstances have kept you—rise to a new life]! Shine (be radiant with the glory of the Lord), for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you!” Isaiah 60:1 (AMPC)
