Greetings from Gettysburg!
The whirlwind, once again, has started. I am so excited. The production company will be an LLC in a week or two. It also has the name I wanted. But I can’t share it yet. I have to wait for it to be legal.
I am also reworking the pitch, logline, and synopsis. I believe I have finally gotten to the heart of the matter of Summer Ray. When I saw a picture of it, after the tears stopped, I knew I had to make some changes. You will see it in the upcoming promo trailer. It should be out within a week or two. I am also working on building the new fundraiser and the perks to go with it. I am taking an accountability class with our Fiscal Sponsor, and let me tell you, being accountable creates discipline.
Accountable – responsible for and having to explain your actions
Discipline – the self-control that is gained by requiring that rules or orders be obeyed, and the ability to keep working at something that is difficult.
My Author Media Kit is also in the works. But I am also going to have to start writing again. The scripts are based on Summer Ray’s first person point of view.
“The Memoirs of Summer Ray,” is the expanded version of the original Summer Ray book series. But it is written partially in Summer Ray’s first person point of view. This volume is based on, “This Fair and Blighted Land,” and brings out more of Summer Ray’s personality; her struggles of having a Traumatic Brain Injury; PTSD; and so forth. As a diehard Yankee woman who is captivated by the Battle of Gettysburg, an unexpected trip to New York City changes the course of her life forever.“
This book is unpublished. Right now it is 404 pages. Once I start working on it again, the 2nd edition will be around 500 pages. But it is what the scripts are based on. So, I need to get a move on and get it done, and get the new ISBN for it as well.

I certainly have a lot to keep me busy. But it was nice to take a break for a few weeks. I was on vacation at the beach and will be again next week for a few days. I was able to get quiet and view the sights and listen to the sounds of nature. Praise God, I had so much leading on what to do next. It was amazing!
If you are an Indie filmmaker, I so encourage you to reach out to Carole Dean of From the Heart Productions. www.fromtheheartproductions.com and see about getting fiscally sponsored by them. It doesn’t hurt to check out the website and have a consultation. Truly, Carole’s knowledge of the film industry is astonishing. She also has the most amazing daughter, and staff to help you! I know I would not be where I am in this project, if FTH wasn’t my fiscal sponsor. But I also have this immense desire to learn. You have to really want your project to succeed and be willing to do the work in a spirit of excellence. You are among friends with other Indie filmmakers too.
Till next time! Thank you for being a part of our Summer Ray world.
