THE MEMOIRS OF SUMMER RAY

So, in my efforts to “create the buzz,” what have I started? https://thememoirsofsummerray.com/2024/05/25/creating-the-buzz/ Yikes! There is so much information to study that at times, I feel buried underneath it all. Still, in all of that I am learning what I have done wrong and how I need to fix it. But it all starts with The Memoirs of Summer Ray Volume 1. Don’t get me wrong. I love Amazon. But we need to expand from there and use other distribution platforms. But as a newbie, I did not know anything about ISBN numbers and by using Amazon’s free one, I could not promote the book on those other platforms. So, I will unpublish the current book, and buy my own ISBN. I will then be free to do whatever I want with MY book. It will even have the cream colored paper on the inside. Because you know, fiction books are supposed to use that color and NOT WHITE! White is generally for non-fiction books. But I didn’t know that either. I actually had it the opposite. Some of my non-fiction books have cream colored paper.

When you want to be a professional, you must do what is professional and what is considered industry standards.

It is no different than writing a screenplay. The above are very simple changes that I need to make and will take about a week to fix. So, I am not worried about that. I tend to put the cart before the horse. But I am an author; a storyteller. I honestly, am all thumbs when it comes to marketing and such. It is very hard for me to deal with. But it is part of being a “self-published,” author. Plus, I am promoting the film at the same time -submitting the script to film festivals. But my focus right now, also needs to be the book the film is based on. I actually feel the weight from it all and this is where I need to turn my attention to the Lord and allow Him to help me. This burden is simply too heavy for me to carry. I think that is why, He gives me little pieces of the puzzle to accomplish and when I do, He gives me the next piece to put in its proper place.

The Bible states in 1 Peter 5:7, “casting all your cares [all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares about you [with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully].” (AMP) In taking a few brief courses about marketing, I now need to change my logline. Below is the current one.

“A Texas rancher inherits his great-great grandmother’s stone farmhouse in Gettysburg,

and after finding a secret time capsule, he and his wife unlock mysteries of his grandmother’s past

that may or may not, should have stayed hidden.“

His great-great grandmother, of course, is Summer Ray. So, that does give a hint as to how far into the future the story goes. But it doesn’t tell much of what Summer Ray is actually about. A logline describes the film in a few sentences and it should have something to the effect of, “Summer is a divorced mom and disabled.” She definitely has issues. But that makes her more relatable. She isn’t made from Artificial Intelligence. She is human, even as a made up character. The idea here is, to attract readers and viewers, by showing something that you/them can connect to. It makes her personable and approachable. Which is precisely what needs to happen.

This is going the extra mile, to ensure the success of both the book series and the film/TV series. I believe wholeheartedly that this story is entertaining, enlightening, and empowering. Why? Because it is compelling, intriguing and enthralling. It grips the reader, keeping them on the edge of their seat. (From reviews). But just writing those last few sentences, my adrenaline literally started pumping and I am now also on the edge of my seat with anticipation. I may get tired, burnt out, weary, and exhausted. But in all honesty, I never get tired of the story of Summer Ray. So, onward! We will continue to go the extra mile and do what ever it takes to for the success of both the book series and the film/TV series as well. Why? One of the reasons, is so that you/them will know that the hand of God came after you, to reach you, to show you His love for you and for the world. If this project was just Juliana Love inspired, HA! I would have quit a long time ago. This is God inspired and He will help us see it through to, “The End!”

God is good. Had I made the above changes too soon, the books would have been pre-maturely released, if at that time, I owned the ISBN numbers. Thank You God! Your timing is always PERFECT! Now, I can get my own ISBN numbers and get the first book started to be released to other platforms. Thank You, Jesus!!!
