Blank page…blank canvas. What do you do when all your thoughts, and ideas and the next step is blank. You don’t know what to do, so you just sit there unmotivated and quite possibly depressed.
Let me tell you, in this business, there is always something you can do. I have devoured so much information over the years that it is readily available to me at any given moment needed. The problem isn’t the lack of information, it is the lack of spark or motivation. It is the, “I am just not feeling it today.” It is the, “I haven’t raised the funds yet.” It’s the negatives that we dwell on. Stop it! If champions did that, they would never reach a championship level. Our increase is based on how much we truly want to succeed. I might not be feeling the business today, but I put my feelings aside and I just do what I need to do.
The funds are out there just waiting to be sent to us. Do you have a Fiscal Sponsor? I do. It is Carole Dean of From the Heart Productions. If you need guidance, check out her website. www.fromtheheartproductions.com. Talk about a wealth of information! But you have to be willing to invest the time in your project, by doing the necessary research.
I am 100% convinced that God has His hands on my project. But, it doesn’t mean that I can be lazy and expect Him to do all the work. He leads me. But I also have to act on where He has led me to. Sometimes, I make the wrong decisions and then it takes a tad bit longer to get myself back on track. But other parts of life that cannot be neglected, like family, must be given a portion of our time. But, there are times when I am impatient.
God knows the time when this film will be ready for the world to see it. He has placed the sun, moon and stars in space. He certainly can guage when the Summer Ray Series needs to be launced on screen. So, what can I be doing to launch the film forward? If you were to ask my body what I should be doing, it would tell you, “To go lay on the couch and watch TV all day!” Seriously! Because this is how I feel today. There is a certain amount of time to rest. I am not saying that every waking moment needs to be focused with both feet on the gas peddle. But, when we start to feel like nothing is happening, even when there is, we need to be careful and not fall into the trap of doubt.
Today I shared our fundraiser; emailed my Fiscal Sponsor; wrote a blog; messaged my team; did some reading on filmmaking and the day is young. This is all part of moving the film forward. I may have had to force myself to do it. Because I truly am, “not feeling it.” But do not go on your feelings. They change like the wind. Stay steady and keep the course! Look up. See the beauty in God’s amazing creation called space. It will help to put things in perspective. I know He’s got my project safe in His hands. I know He is moving things along at the pace He wants it to go on. I have to trust Him and relax and not feel so freaked out. The funding is coming. Every loose end is being tied, so we can go into production. It is not a time of sadness. It is a time of celebration! Woohoo! Thank You, God!
