If there is one thing I have come to understand about the film business and being an author and screenplay writer is this; my success is their success. If I fail at what I do, those with me will fail – via default and not through their own fault. I have to be willing to go up to the next level, though I have already stepped up what seems to be a 100 levels already. It is exhausting, I will admit. But, making the right improvements, leads to making the right connections on a much higher level scale. So, I do what I need to do in order to make sure this happens. Whether this is learning a new software program, or making sacrifices that are not easy. If I want to succeed in bringing this screenplay to Production, all the way to the Premiere, it is still the right thing to do. So, we just do it.
I think this is what separates the wishful thinkers and the doers. I might not like doing what I have to do. But, I don’t have to like it, in order for the job to get done. But, when I see a finished polished work of art, I am incredibly proud to be a part of something so grand. I have heard recently, “You cannot rush art!”
So, I am taking a moment or two to learn what I have to learn and to do what I have to do, in order to make this art a masterpiece!
