THE MEMOIRS OF SUMMER RAY

I try to write a blog at least once a week. Lately, that has not been the case. I am in the process of moving again and have had serious pain in my left arm. Which made typing not so fun. But there are updates and I want to be sure to pass them along. I will know in a few weeks if the new script and book trailer are nominated for awards. I have only actually submitted them to one festival. I hope to submit them to more. I just have not had the opportunity to research more festivals. If we are nominated, I do believe this is the year we will be going to Texas.

I am buying the new ISBN number for the first book, “The Memoirs of Summer Ray.” www.thememoirsofsummerray.com This will allow me to have it on more distribution platforms, and it will definitely expand our reach. I will soon start the second book, based on “Savannah’s Calling.” I actually have half of the 8th book in the original series done. But I won’t finish it as “Portals of the Past.” I did create the book cover for it. People ask me how the story ends, especially those who are waiting for that 8th book in the original series. I always get asked if the General McDaniels and Summer Ray end up together. But it’s kind of interesting that I started the memoirs series, when that information has not yet been disclosed. So, I will trust the timing of it all and keep it under wraps!

Our move was definitely unexpected. But it is for certain a good one and I thank God for it. We have a family beach trip between now and our move. Of course, this beautiful beach and ocean are in the story – somewhere!

I have tried to keep Summer Ray as real as possible. I remember one time at a book singing when a woman sat down and the first thing she asked me was, “How much of it is real.” She then told me, “Because I couldn’t tell which parts were true and which parts weren’t.” I guess that is a good thing. A book tour will happen soon. But it is already June. So, I am not sure if it will happen until the spring of 2025. There are a lot of necessary things that have to be taken care of first. My health for one. But things like the new ISBN numbers; separating the books and film via websites; making Round Top Publishers my official publishing company. I am still not sure if I will change the name. I have no intentions on publishing any one else’s work. At the moment, things are somewhat mashed together and I absolutely need to have all of this in better order. Thankfully, the film side has an awesome Entertainment Attorney. So, I at least have that in place. I am happy with the progress made. I am excited with the memoirs being added to the scripts. I believe this is all in God’s timing, and He works with me with my flaws and all. I looked over pictures from the last fourteen and a half years of Summer Ray. Those years seem like a lifetime ago. Because it seems like we are just getting started. Well onward to the final, “The End” of both the book series and the film/TV series! We are in it for the duration and to God be the glory.
