What is new with Summer Ray? Well, it is pretty much on the same and steady course. I am working on promoting the first book of the new series; film festivals etc. In the meantime, I am also working on a vision board https://fromtheheartproductions.com/from-dream-to-screen-vision-boards-for-filmmakers/. Carole is our Fiscal Sponsor and she knows what she is talking about. I love this statement she wrote:
“And remember, a vision board is not a one-and-done exercise.
It’s a living, breathing entity that evolves with you.“
The Bible states in Proverbs 29:18, “Where there is no vision, the people perish.” If I have no vision for my film and its future, it will not live to see distribution. It will die in a desert of doubt. When things appear slow, or not working, or even going backwards, vision of its creation and of its future, most assuredly will get me passed the layovers. Sometimes, our plans have to include layovers to get us from one place to the next. But I believe it is what I do with those layover times, that will make or break my future in the film industry. This is why a vision board is so vitally important. I can then look at it and see where my vision is taking me. I do what I can during the layover times, then board a new plane and get where I need to be.

I do not have all the answers, only God does. When I need an answer or new direction, He will tell me. I had absolutely no intentions on writing a new series, based on the original. But because God led me to do so, I did and Wow! It absolutely took the story to new heights. So, while in the process of creating a vision board, I am also starting Savannah’s Calling, writing some of it in Summer Ray’s first person point of view. So, when things appear to be silent, it is mostly because we are working behind the scenes. I am learning marketing, which is a whole new skill level for authors. But as I wrote in my previous blog, I am working on creating the buzz for the books. https://thememoirsofsummerray.com/2024/05/25/creating-the-buzz/.
Busy with business as usual. I am just anxious to get to production. But I also know, I still need to trust God’s timing. He KNOWS the exact day this film will be in theaters and that is something I need to have on my vision board, a picture of a theater with the name of the film on it. It will keep me focused. Also, have 1,000,000 copies of the first book sold on my vision board. Without vision, these things will perish. I will just get discouraged and lose hope. So, if you are facing any such thing, please read about creating a vision board. It will also help to keep you focused.
Till next time,
Thank you for being a part of our Summer Ray world.
