THE MEMOIRS OF SUMMER RAY

For what ever reason, I was led to read an article about Hollywood.

I was actually shocked to read how many stars are atheists. Oh! That is why Hollywood is so spiritually dark. Duhh! But was it not God who gave them their talents to begin with? And yet, He doesn’t even get a, “Thank You!” I cried about this because it broke my heart. It was then I finally understood, I mean really understood Summer Ray’s mission and that is to light the world. Hollywood is dangerously dark. Martin Luther King Jr., once stated: “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that.” The Bible states in Matthew 5:14-16 (NIV),

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.  Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

Just like this Hollywood sign, our light is to shine for all to see. During the day, the sign is visible. But at night, it no longer has lights. I think that is a sign of how darkness, over the years has invaded Hollywood. Often times, if not most of the times, God sends Christians to these types of places to bring His light. I believe Summer Ray is also meant to be in Hollywood. I don’t know the logistics. I don’t know the how’s or the why’s. I just know we are meant to be there. Our Fiscal Sponsor Carole Dean of From the Heart Productions is only about an hour away from Los Angeles. It is possible we will be going to film festival, filming there, or meeting with industry professionals? I honestly do not know. I just know, if that is where God is sending us that is where we will go.

How much money a person has, doesn’t get them into heaven. How much talent, prestige and influence a person has, doesn’t get them into heaven either! On the one hand, Hollywood has billionaires and on the other, the streets are lined with the homeless. But God loves the homeless person, as much as he loves a wealthy one. But it grieves my soul that many in Hollywood do not honor God, nor give Him the glory due Him.

This is much like Gettysburg (in a different kind of way). This small historical town – has taken God out of it. It too, is becoming increasingly dark. They are trying to erase the history and act as if it never happened. I plan to open a store, Reflections of Gettysburg and have it partly as a Christ centered store where God is welcome. I don’t have all those logistics either at the moment. But for now, I need to research Hollywood more and get better acquainted with it. Summer Ray is on the move and this is why God has raised us up, to bring light. The picture of me, is at Big Round Top in Gettysburg, where the story of Summer Ray began. I visit it often for inspiration. One thing about light, it cannot be hidden. Like the stars in the night sky, they shine bright. Not everyone will accept us. But we need to try and reach those who will. Summer Ray is a mission and a ministry as well as entertainment. Onward!!!
