THE ART OF PATIENCE!

After taking a month off the ice due to heath issues, I am ready to tackle the ice once again.

My awesome coach Cathy, who was hurt on the ice, is also on the mend. You will be seeing her also in the pilot as herself! Health issues are hard for anyone, and it can slow down any production. Thankfully, I work from home and I was able to still get a lot of work done. I couldn’t however, skate. My fitness level due to this illness, went from top to bottom. I am now working my way back up. I am Summer Ray’s skating double and I have to get this done. But it might take another year. We may be filming this scene last. But that is okay too. I have had to learn the art of patience. I have made some better habits and instead of being the hare, I have had to become the tortoise. https://read.gov/aesop/025.html

Can’t I be more like a sea turtle swimming effortlessly throughout the ocean, going as fast as I want?

Nope! I lost my balance, muscle mass, weight, strength, and most of all, confidence. Out on the ice, it is very easy to get hurt. One cannot make progress without the above. Grieving over what I could do before I got sick, was only making me sicker in my mind. I didn’t think I was going back to the ice so soon. But God knew when I was ready. Right now, it’s baby steps and working on getting my strength back and knowing when I am about to over exert myself. Thankfully, we have about 1/4 of my film skating program worked out. All is not lost. It will actually be so much more. I am starting to compartmentalize what it will take, to make this program the best it can be. I can stretch more, have more emotions etc. I am doing a lot of studying about choreography, arm placements and how to reach the audience. But it is still a lot of work and I have to remember not to try to rush ahead. Thankfully, Cathy sees when I am about to crash and we work on easier moves.

In terms of behind the scenes with other film stuff, we are working steadily on business necessities. Soon, we will being going to Bethany Beach in Delaware and open our SostarSun Productions bank account. Delaware is where we are incorporated. I have finished editing five books. I have two more to go and to finish the eighth book. Then marketing will begin. There will be more film festival submissions and lots of Summer Ray merchandise upcoming as well. Onward!

Thank you for being a part of our Summer Ray world!
