TRULY WORTH IT!

Greetings from Gettysburg!

I am now working on books 6,7, & 8! I am quite giddy because I know I will meet the July 04th deadline. The hardest part has been making sure I have the references correct. It means I have to go back and do more research. Also, if I add one line, or a word, or subtract them, it means I have to change the whole Table of Contents. But I am getting more and more excited to cross that finish line. It means we will be able to turn our attention back to the film.

I know I have written about this a lot lately. But it has helped to keep me on track in regard to keeping my goals. I cannot imagine how I would feel, if I don’t meet the last book’s deadline. I will miss an amazing opportunity to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary, with General George Washington on the front book cover.

People told me not to finish the books, but to work on the film. I was told other authors didn’t finish their book series and started their episodes. I was told too much time was being wasted. Blah, blah, blah! I had to do what I thought was best. I did not want to leave anything hanging, in that I needed to know the direction this series was taking, and how it was going to end. This was to ensure I understand the plots, backstories, themes, emotions, etc. The reason, the pilot film and the episodes will expand the book series. But some of them are over 300 pages and close to it. So, I did add a lot of detail. But I wanted to give more to the live action part of the project. Still, I have given 100% of my heart and soul into making sure the books are quality. It is why they have taken so long to get right. Plus, adding the ISBNs and barcodes, they are now mine and I can do what I want with them. But it has been time consuming for sure.

There are always distractions that take from our focus. I had COVID. I was writing other articles. I was busy with family. I was involved with other issues here in Gettysburg. But my focus has been since January, to stay on course. It didn’t matter how many times I got knocked off of it, I went right back to it. Now, I have two more books to update and one more to finish writing. I have some breathing room. But I am not going to take it. I am going to finish this, so we can get moving on the pilot film. ALSO, I had to finish the series because the Pitch Deck will require information about the books. I am positive that is the reason why I stopped working on the PD in the first place. I ran into a roadblock. I cannot put the cart before the horse. Besides, taking six months to get the books in the professional condition that they need to be in, is so worth it. My peace of mind is worth it. My readers are worth it. If you have to walk an extra mile or two for the sake of being professional, DO IT! But you have to care enough about the people you will be interacting with; who will buy your books and who will pay see to your film. I am thankful for modern day technology. But it doesn’t mean we should cut corners. I am weary, yes! I am exhausted over this. But the closer I get to finishing the last book, the more excited I become. This is hard work. But it is work that is truly worth it!
