Greetings from Gettysburg,
Volume 5 is in its final edits, and having its new ISBN. It will be ready to publish next week. I still have to add the description. This book is now 300 pages.

COVID set me back about five weeks. I still have books 6 & 7 to update, and I need to finish writing the 8th book to be released on July 04th. There is no way I am missing that deadline! I never get tired of the story. I do get tired sometimes of how tedious it can get with the editing. I just want to get to pre-production of the film and get out of development. But without the books in their final edits, I can’t add them to the Pitch Deck. Getting these books done is the prerequisite to moving the film forward. I set this goal back in January. I was determined to get them done. I was scared, not going to lie and say I wasn’t. I didn’t see how I was going to edit and finish eight books in six months. But here we are, almost at the end of March, and I still have three months to get the remaining three books done. The hard part will be finishing up the entire series with the 8th book. But I am already getting excited because it means I can change gears and start to concentrate more on the film side of things. I will, of course, still be doing books stuff like book signings etc., But I wrote the series to create the film and episodes. I cannot wait to see the story come to life.
The first book in the Memoirs of Summer Ray – is out of print for now. This is just until I can also get a new ISBN for it. But the memoir books are written in Summer Ray’s 1st person point of view. https://thememoirsofsummerray.com/the-memoirs-of-summer-ray-books-summer-rays-point-of-view/. They are what the actual script and episodes are based on. Right now, I don’t need to work on the 2nd book – based on Savannah’s Calling. There are still plenty of pages based on the first book This Fair and Blighted Land, to start writing the episodes with. So that does give me a much needed book break. I will be taking a TV series class in October. I have some time to work on the Pitch Deck.
In this business, nothing is at a standstill. When you finally see the finished product, it is only after years and years of hard work and dedication of so many people. It is called “behind the scenes” for a reason, because most people don’t get to see what it actually takes to create a film. It is why you need a very thick skin. People will judge what they do not understand. You just have to by pass them and keep moving forward. When the finish product is finally in distribution and out into the world, they won’t be able to judge anymore. This is why we must have a permanent and unshakable attachment to our projects. It is like the man who built his house on the rock.
Build on the Rock
“Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.
“But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.”
Matthew 7:24-27 (NKJV)
My foundation is on the Lord Jesus Christ and why I am able to persevere passed the storms. They have not been easy. It seems like it is taking forever. But ONLY GOD could have planned for me to have the 8th book released, on the 250th anniversary of America’s independence. This with George Washington on it. NOPE! I couldn’t have planned it. So, I no longer get upset about the time it is taking to get the film into production and ultimately to distribution. I just thank God that HE has it all under control! He’s got this!
Thank you for being a part of our Summer Ray world.
