THE MEMOIRS OF SUMMER RAY

Part of being in business, is also the need for professional organization. Let me just say this right now, it’s really not one of my stronger virtues. I am actually very bad with it. But it isn’t just about writing, books or scripts, it is also about administration. We are far enough a long that I can take the time to get organized. For years, I have heard and read that I need at least 3,000 email addresses. I would instantly shut down. I just didn’t have the brain power to deal with it. But it is something I can focus my attention on now. I actually went out and bought index cards. I wanted a Rolodex, but couldn’t find one. Yes! I know those are ancient in today’s world. But I will, at some point, transfer all of that information onto the right app. As we grow, so will the way things are done. At least, I am able now to get focused on this part of the project. I am not doing any fundraising, until I have enough inventory to send out the perks immediately, or at least the ones like books, or something tangible. I need to be consistent. The year 2026, will be a time of order. While writing, there is no order. Trust me! I have stuff all over the place. I wake up in the middle of the night and write on napkins, or anything I can find. It has gotten so bad at times that I have been asked, “How are you an author?” I guess it is just the use of a different part of my brain? I don’t know. But I have been writing on stuff ever since I was a little girl. When I would run out of paper, I would scribble on my mattress. My mom never got mad about it. I think it freaked her out a little though. But still, I can’t focus on order while writing the scripts, editing, creating brochures etc. Please, don’t get me wrong, though it is easy to. I do clean. But I also live in a state of disarray, when it comes to the administrative side of things. I will eventually have a full time Administrative Assistant. But until then, I need to get it together. So, that is what I am going to do.

I think we run into trouble when we try to be everything all at once. I do wear many hats. But the hat of getting the books and the script done well, were and still are my first priority. So, while working on the 3rd book, I do have some breathing room to work on the contacts. I originally thought that the series would be finished by February 09, 2026. But that is simply not the case. The Lord wanted me to slow it down, switch gears, start working on the contact list, create my goals, and make vision board.
