If you go back through my blogs, you will read that I have always strived for excellence. But excellence comes at a cost and a lot of personal sacrifice. I did the book covers myself, many times. But I always felt like they were not quite right. Then I took a leap of faith and asked my friend Adam to work his magic. When you see the book covers together, you can start to really see books that are actually a part of a series. I cannot wait to see all eight books. I hope to have them finished by March of next year, 2026. While updating the outside, I am also updating the inside and it takes time. But thankfully, they won’t need to be edited again. I can finally move on to marketing them, and focus more on the film side of the project.
When I realized that 2026 is the 250th anniversary of America’s birth and freedom, I was reminded of Joseph Plumb Martin – a Revolutionary War soldier in the Continental Army.
“Almost every one has heard of the soldiers of the Revolution being tracked by the blood of their feet on the frozen ground. This is literally true, and the thousandth part of their sufferings has not, nor ever will be told.”
” I confess I felt a secret pride swell my heart when I saw the ‘star spangled banner’ waving majestically in the very faces of our implacable adversaries; it appeared like an omen of success to our enterprize, and so it proved in reality.”
JPM is in the film and Live Streaming series. He does show up in the books too. But I find it somewhat divine that the entire book series will finally be finished around the 250th anniversary. It’s a sign from God above that Summer Ray has its place in America’s patriotism. I do not believe we have lost it. But what I do believe, is that in many ways, it does need to be reignited.

It is my prayer that the story of Summer Ray will help to relight the fire of God, first and foremost, in hearts that have grown cold. We see that here in Gettysburg. The Gettysburg I first wrote about in This Fair and Blighted Land and the pilot script – Summer Ray The Redemption – is not the Gettysburg of today. I hope it will go back to the glory days. But if not, at least from my own perspective, I have those days etched with pen and paper, and soon on screen.
