SLOWLY BUT SURELY!

My last post was June 27th. Today is July 24th. If there is one thing I miss, it’s connecting with Y’all and keeping you updated! But I have been very busy and just dealing with health issues. I do have several book singings coming up. For more information please visit https://thememoirsofsummerray.com/book-signings-other-events/.

I hate that other things (other than my family) have taken some time away from the project. One of those things is my health. After a few weeks of struggle, today I feel pretty good. I actually have some energy. I am slowly but surely, working on the 8th and final book of the original series. And as the budget permits, the books are slowly but surely, being updated as well. A little movement is better than none at all. Sometimes the turtle movement gets to my emotions. Not gonna lie. I do get frustrated.

But I have to trust that God, “who works all things according to the counsel of His will.” Ephesians 1:11 (NKJV) He knew when I first started Summer Ray over sixteen years ago, all of the ups and downs, and issues. He knew the delays, the setbacks, the fast forwards. He knew who was going to stay and who was going to leave. He isn’t sitting in Heaven worried about any of this. Because, “He has made everything beautiful in its time.” Ecclesiastes 3:11 (NIV) In God’s eyes, the project is already at “The End.” He just shows me little by little the steps necessary to get there and when it is Summer Ray’s time for the premiere of the pilot, it will happen right on time. Volume 1 This Fair and Blighted Land is available. https://thememoirsofsummerray.com/the-summer-ray-books-authors-point-of-view/. To view and for ordering information, just click on that above link.

I should have my new skates in a few weeks. I have been off the ice since May. My old (new) skate were just too heavy. COVID did me in, in so many ways. It has been a very long uphill battle back to health. I am making progress – thank God. But I had to come to grips with the fact that I needed new lighter skates and blades. Cathy and I meet every week for a stretch and strength training class. Also working on my program for the pilot.

Slowly but surely, my flexibly is getting better. My endurance, not so much. But I have been able to walk more, power walk more and walk up long hills without having to stop and rest. So, I am definitely improving. I can’t think of the before COVID days or I just get really upset. Sometimes it is really hard to, “Be Positive.” But I am happy I will soon get back to the ice rink. I still have to bring my CPAP and take breaks to use it. It makes me sad to do so. But the alternative is to quit skating and that isn’t going to happen. I am not as well as I should be. But I am not as sick as I was a year ago. I am thankful. I just still have some really hard days in the midst of some really good ones. Summer Ray truly is a light in my own life, because the project helps to keeps me going when I don’t feel well. I will never forget walking on Confederate Avenue when I saw these sunrays. I had to stand in the midst of them and get a picture.

Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that.

Stay in the light – stay close to Jesus who is, “the LIGHT of the world.” (John 8:2 AMPC)

Slowly but surely all will be beautiful in its time!
