THE MEMOIRS OF SUMMER RAY

Wow! It’s been a month since my last blog. I promise, I have not been slacking. I have been glued to my computer editing the books still for their new platform. If you had told me a few months ago I would be editing the books again, I would have without a doubt told you, “NOPE!” I honestly thought that. But thank God, I did. God always makes things better. I am very happy with the new edits and how the books look polished inside and out. I didn’t know they weren’t that way before, until now. But once they are on the new platform, it isn’t like Amazon where you can edit every time for free. Plus, once books are in stores, it would be very bad to have to edit them again. So, I am glad I took the time to go over the books with a fine tooth comb. I added the logo and upped the font 1 point to make it easier to read. I did a lot of research on this. So, hopefully in the very near future, I can just work more on the film side of things, marketing the book series and finishing up the 8th and final book.

Very exited about all of this. But it has taken a long time. I get weary of the time. But I never get tired of the story. I never get tired of the purpose as to why I am doing what I do. I just get impatient and want to get things done already. I know we are well on our way to production. The script is done and that is half the battle. The rest is funding, building the cast, crew and shooting the scenes. Then afterward, post production to distribution. We are half way to distribution. I cannot be upset with that. The books are well on their way to being expanded into stores and across the globe. I cannot be upset with that either. When things are put in perspective, it changes how we view things. But I am still thinking of all I want to get done. I am building a store within the website. I am wanting to do a book signing tour. Perhaps in the summer, or maybe next. I honestly do not know how it all works. I haven’t gotten that far. My next goal is to send out (not in email form) but brochures introducing our project. I think emails serve a purpose. But I also think it loses the personal touch. Sure! It is way more expensive (the personal touch). But I think it is worth it. I used to love getting greeting cards in the mail. It is a lost art though. So, I plan to add some to our Summer Ray shop. This is why I get a little overwhelmed because there is a lot that needs to get done. But the books and the script are the tools of the trade. If those tools are not right, then the whole project would fail and why so much attention needed be on them.

The only way I can visually understand that is via my skates, which are the tools of Figure Skating. But ice skating is hard enough with the right fitted skates. It takes a lot of work. But to have on rental skates with dull blades, is a disaster waiting to happen. So the tools of the written story, both in the books and script, must be right! But I do look forward to being more creative, with our Summer Ray soaps, body scrubs and lotions. They will have honeysuckle added because that is what Summer Ray wears. Of course, there will be other scents, but this first line will be specifically for Summer Ray. I just want to get to it already!!! But first things first. Right now, I am learning the how to make them. I am frustrated because editing books is extremely time consuming and tedious. Where making soaps is fun! I want to get to the fun stuff. LOL! In time!!!
