First, my thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected by the California fires. I cannot comprehend such a tragedy. My heart is broken and I can only pray from across the country. To see Hollywood burning and the surrounding areas, doesn’t even seem real to me. Hollywood was such a source of power, strength and entertainment. To see it all being reduced to ashes, I just cannot wrap my thoughts around it.

I kept this snow globe on my desk for the longest time. I had to then store it when we moved. I need to put it back on my desk where it belongs. But it kept me focused. I dreamed of visiting the famous “HOLLYWOOD,” sign. It is in danger of being burned. Sunset Boulevard has charred cars all over it; above Hollywood Boulevard a fire is spreading. So many homes gone, so many people and animals are displaced and have lost everything. I believe, however, that because of the American spirit, out of the ashes they will revive and rebuild, just look at the south and all they have suffered with and I will get political here, it is not because of the government!
The grand eras of Hollywood. It is part of our American history. Regardless of what the outgoing Biden Administration does to help those in need, he cannot take the place of the American spirit. Because it comes from Almighty God. I look in horror at the floods in the south, due to Hurricane Helene. I watch in disbelief as well at the fires raging across California. These are catastrophic horrors! Then I look at the south and how Americans came together to help. I watch firemen carry out helpless and terrified animals from burning brush. I watch homeowners and firefighters helping to save homes, and even if they couldn’t, they stood together and they didn’t have to. No one HAD to put their own life at risk to help another fellow human being. This is the heart of the American spirit that I am referring to. This is the goodness of God in action.
Hollywood as always been on my heart. In many ways it became a godless cesspool of hate and sin. But in many other ways, it became a beacon of hope and light. I cannot stand Governor Newsom and his demonic policies. Had he done his job, the real job he was elected for, the fires may not have been as severe. When we take God out, we open the door wide open for Satan. Facts are facts! He needs to be brought before Congress and drilled as to why he didn’t protect his constituents. He could not have stopped the winds. He could have made sure, however, that enough water was available in case of emergencies. He could have made sure the brush was cleared. He should have done more to protect his people. Which he and the mayor were previously warned about. It was also within their control to not reduce the budget of the Fire Departments. I think it is an unbearable and unimaginable loss for so many people. The right conditions happened and the fires spread to incomprehensible destruction. No one in the south, would have thought a hurricane would ever cause the damage it did to unsuspecting residents either. Yet here we are!
I am reminded of a scripture.
“Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter:
Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.” Ecclesiastes 12:13 (KJV)
Fear God and keep His commandments! For this is the WHOLE duty of man. This is what our lives are supposed to be focused on – fearing God and keeping His commandments. Part of that is loving our neighbor as we love ourself.
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” Mark 12:30-31 (NIV)
But in many cases, we are out of love for others because we are not able to love ourselves. Summer Ray goes through some intense and hurtful stuff. The 7th book is titled, “Rising From the Ashes.”

The battles for her faith, leaves her weary and battle-scarred. The task to rebuild seems above and beyond my comprehension. Now more than ever, I believe God is raising up this project to be a light in the midst of so much darkness. I absolutely believe within the next year or two, we will start production.
We can fill an ocean with hope, when we add our purpose to others.

The task is too big for just one person, or one project! It isn’t so big when people are joined in unity. But it starts with love and love is of God because He is love. (1 John 4:7-21) Father God, all I have is because of You. The story is because of You. The project is because of You. If we ever win an award, You will be the first one I thank! I will always keep You in front!
Thank you for being a part of our Summer Ray world!
To those lives lost from any of these disasters, I am so very sorry. To those who have lost your homes and memories, I pray that God will be your source of strength. I pray that He will become the foundation on which you stand. I pray you will rise from the ashes, rebuild from the trauma, heal from the devastation. I pray you recover. I also pray the goodness of God working through the American spirit, sheds a light on your broken heart and that you will know that you are not alone! In Jesus Name…Amen
