THE MEMOIRS OF SUMMER RAY

Rebuild is defined as, “build (something) again after it has been damaged or destroyed, reconstruct, restore, renovate, refashion.” Refashion simply means to reshape, or (in my opinion – rebrand). When we rebrand something or even ourselves, we are updating and changing the image. After there has been so much damage, rebuilding and rebranding are needed for success. What does this have to do with Summer Ray? The project is fine. We are actually in a very good place with it. But some of the rebuilding has to do with me. I have a little more direction that the 8th and final book needs to go in that I didn’t have before. It has kind of been sitting on the shelf. I have been writing bits and pieces. But I didn’t have that final explosive element. But I do now. My heart has always been to connect with readers and viewers on a relatable level, not just on a contact level. I wanted the story to be so in-depth that anyone who reads it or watches it on Live Stream, connects. Without connection, a story has no meaning, no purpose and it is without success. If I cannot connect my WIFI, I have no Internet. If I cannot connect my lamp to the electricity, I have no light.

If a person cannot and does not connect with a story, I don’t believe there can be a relationship. What is a lamp without electricity? It can look nice on a table, or a shelf. But when darkness it, it is worthless. It is neither seen or doing what it is meant to do – light the room. But without that electrical current, it is just a pretty lamp sitting on a desk. I never wanted people to see Summer Ray as just a good story, but still couldn’t relate to. I want that emotional current to go through them and light up their own emotions. I want those who read the story and see it on Live Stream, to come alive and find something that can make their world a better place.

Stan Lee once said:

“I used to be embarrassed because I was just a comic-book writer while other people were building bridges or going on to medical careers. And then I began to realize: Entertainment is one of the most important things in people’s lives. Without it, they might go off the deep end. I feel that if you’re able to entertain people, you’re doing a good thing.”

I could not agree more. Entertainment is not just about being entertained. It is about connection. I wanted Thor and Jane to live happily ever after. Loki, so handsome. But what an ass! I was happy when Jane slapped him across the face! If you can become intertwined in a story, you have a chance to disconnect from the stress of the outside world. Maybe you won’t feel so alone, if you see how much Summer Ray has to struggle just to keep her faith. Satan is real. He isn’t a made up costume that some wear at Halloween.

I believe a great Light has dawned over America with the election of President Trump. We have sat in great darkness due to the current administration. I also believe Summer Ray is part of America’s restoration. Her name is “light” and why God had me name her that. I didn’t know what would happen to America, when I first started writing the story back in 2009. But God knew the future. Summer and I will always be a PATRIOT! There is a lot of American history woven into the storyline. As I continue to work on rebuilding my health, I will continue to work on the project as we also seek to “Light the World!”
