DOORS WILL OPEN!

Wow! Over fifteen years working on Summer Ray and we are still going strong. But if someone doesn’t understand the project, they might think that fifteen years is an automatic failure. Honestly, it is a very long time to be working on this and we still haven’t gotten to production. But you have to look at the overall picture. It will be (most likely) close to sixteen years, before the entire original series will be completed. I am hoping that is not the case. But I don’t want to rush this last book and overlook important details. But why did it take so long for the original series to be completed? It’s simple. It took eight years for the first script to be finished. But that didn’t happen until after I added the memoirs that are based on the original series, written some in Summer Ray’s first person point of view. Just because a project takes longer than normal, doesn’t mean it lacks quality. I took on the roles of screenplay writer, website designer, video creator and producer. Not because I was experienced in those roles, but out of necessity. So, I have been in on the job training all these years too. Plus to date, including this blog, I have written 437 blogs over the years. The book covers have been changed a lot. I have found a way to keep the covers https://thememoirsofsummerray.com/the-summer-ray-book-series/ but with added touches that will make them shine and stand out more. Because let’s face it. At times, we do judge a book by its cover. I am convinced I need to get this part of the project in order. I am hoping to do that within the next few months, while working on the 8th book The Portals of the Past to get it finished. I am also working on our pitch and still being mentored by our amazing Fiscal Sponsor Carole Dean of From the Heart Productions. www.fromtheheartproductions.com

So, I am in motion with this project. But until the behind the scenes parts are in place, it won’t look like much is happening. I can assure you, there is. Being in God’s timing, I cannot say that we have been delayed. We are just going at His pace because He knows what is best. I could rush ahead and then yes, I would fail miserably. But I am not about to do that. I didn’t know the script would have to go through so many rewrites. But film scripts and books are two different entities. I have to find our target audience too and the specific genres that we need to market to. Summer Ray has a variety of genres, but I am still pretty secure in the supernatural, suspense, thriller genres; with historical fiction and time travel, romance being the sub genres. This is not a Christian film and won’t be pitched as such. Though it has a salvation purpose, it still will not have a Christian type genre. We are no longer a project that looks like the picture below. We absolutely used to look like this. But not anymore. Praise God!

Many pieces are now in place and it is very exciting. I know we have many more pieces to put in their place. But we will, as we continue to keep moving foreword and that is the key to future success. Don’t quit! Keep learning about the business. Doors will open! Don’t walk away from a door that is about to be unlocked and opened up. You don’t know how close you are. I don’t know how close we are. But I do know, I am going to keep knocking as I continue to find ways to improve.

Thank you for being a part of our Summer Ray world!
