THE MEMOIRS OF SUMMER RAY

Well, I am in the midst of writing the 8th final Summer Ray book, of the original series. This is not an easy one to write as it does involve a lot of research. It means I am reading several books, visiting historical sites and museums. But it is the climatic and going out in a blaze of glory, grand finale kind of book. So, whatever it takes to get it there, is worth it. I can visibly see parts of it on screen already and the fact that is brings the whole story together, is simply amazing. But God does know the end from the beginning. I NEVER know how a book will be written. Although I am not a religious woman. I am a woman who is in a personal relationship with God the Father, God the Son (Jesus) and God the Holy Spirit. It sounds contradictory to say I am not religious. I get it. But truly, I am saved by grace. I believe in salvation. I believe that there is only ONE way to heaven and that is through Jesus. At the end of every book, I have the Prayer of Salvation. Summer Ray is a faith based story. I hesitate to call it a “Christian” story. Why? It is because a lot of people turn away from “Christianity.” I won’t pitch the film side of the project as a Christian one either. It will be a “supernatural,” one instead. Why again? It is because for the same reason. When I (personally) think of Christian films etc., I think of feel good stories, or real historical ones. The story of Summer Ray take us on her journey and it is not an easy one. She has renounced witchcraft and Summer is trying to find her way in God’s Kingdom, while being chased by demons who want to kill her. She has to fight to keep her faith alive, and is crushed by her own choice to serve God. That for many, is REAL Christianity. We are at war against Satan who absolutely hates us. But when someone who once served him in the capacity that Summer Ray has, it becomes an even harder battle. This is why I think those in some Christian circles will not accept our story. It is not sugarcoated. I must tell the truth, even though it is wrapped in an historical fiction series. Throw in some time travel, romance, drama, adventure, and BAM!!! You have a compelling story that is inspiring and also has a purpose. The story of Summer Ray, comes with a lot of different kinds of emotions. It is meant to pull you in, so you will HAVE to find out how it ends. But through it all, it is also meant to minister to you, as well as to entertain you. You might be fighting some hard battles of your own. But when you see that you are truly understood and truly not alone, it is my hope and prayer that you will find some hope, strength and happiness as you see that God is truly with you. There is a scripture that I want to bring to our attention. Isaiah 43:2 states:

“Don’t be afraid, I’ve redeemed you.
    I’ve called your name. You’re mine.
When you’re in over your head, I’ll be there with you.
    When you’re in rough waters, you will not go down.
When you’re between a rock and a hard place,
    it won’t be a dead end—
Because I am God, your personal God,
    The Holy of Israel, your Savior. “(MSG)

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
And through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you.
When you walk through fire, you will not be scorched,
Nor will the flame burn you.” (AMP)

Have you ever been in the ocean and the waves are rough? Then they crash over your head and you are bounced around wondering if you will make it out alive? I am just using this as an illustration as it happened to me. I am NOT saying to go into the ocean during rough tides. But the point is, have you been between a rock and a hard place? God said the rough waters won’t cause us to drown, or those rocks that we are caught between, is not a dead end. We won’t die in those places of our walk with Him. When we are in the heat of battle against the demonic, when we are walking through that hellacious fire, we will not be burned. I believe this is part of Summer Ray’s purpose. Yes! At times, we will be in rough waters, caught between a rock and a hard place, and yes we will walk through fire. But with God’s help, we will make it out okay!

It is my mission and the mission of so many others who are a part of this project, to help you make it out okay, by doing what He has called us to do.

But also, we have to save our American history and to keep God at its core.

These are the two missions that are at the heart of the story of Summer Ray!

I look forward to the final book being released. It has been a very long fourteen and a half years since the story first began. The ONLY way that I have been able to do what I do, is because God was and is with me, and He will continue to be with our project – till the final curtain call. It is so exciting and I cannot wait to get to the first production.
