I read this blog by Kenneth Copeland this morning and it really hit home! https://www.kcm.org/read/faith-to-faith. When I first started the story of Summer Ray back in 2009, it just felt like it was the right thing to do. I didn’t think about the storms, or the waves, or the possibility that I could sink. I just jumped out of the boat and tried my best to walk on water.

There were times when things were calm and I was able to get a lot of work done. (Pictured above). But then there were times when the storms hit. (Pictured below).

Thunder, lightning, a down pour, and waves tossing me around, isn’t so fun. In fact, it is down right agonizing. It is terrifying as I wonder if I had missed God along the way and I am just a complete failure. Book sales are down. The script is just now finalized and I have started to submit it to film festivals. Those who promised they wouldn’t leave the project did. Sometimes we are left alone with our dream and Jesus. But let’s look at this from a higher point of view. The first book is done and the entire book series needs to be revised adding Summer Ray’s first person point of view. This in fact, did make the story so much better. Second, the script also had to be revised to match the new revisions. A lot of people would have quit by now. Walking on water isn’t for everyone. As the saying goes, “If it were easy, everyone would do it.” So, how can I be a failure if I haven’t quit? If I am doing everything I can to improve the project – that doesn’t make me a failure. It makes me tenacious. It makes me someone who wants things to be done right and in the highest of quality. Even if that means, I have to go the extra mile, or ten or 100 miles. Is it exhausting? Yes! Will it be worth it in the long run? Of course. Immediate and instant gratification doesn’t help anyone or anything. Okay! Well, maybe eating a whole chocolate bar because I am stressed does make me happy.

But it doesn’t in the long run because I feel bad afterwards and the weight gain isn’t pleasant either. So, wishing this project was already in production last year or even at the beginning of this year, would have ended in disaster. The new revisions were not made yet. GOD KNOWS WHAT HE IS DOING. If we keep Him in the water with us, He will get us where we need to be, even if we start to sink. He will lift us up. Please read that article by Kenneth Copeland. It will definitely encourage you.
