A SOLID FOUNDATION MATTERS!

I am still working on the script and playing around with the idea that I need to change it to match the 1st volume, of The Memoirs of Summer Ray. It’s like the cake is made with the original series, but we need to add the icing and sprinkles. The thought that I could seriously screw this up, doesn’t escape me. But now that I know this new book written in first person exists, I honestly do not think I can turn my back on it. This means it is back to tweaking the original script. It means, I may miss this year’s film festival circuit (just for the script). But if you know you have something better to work with, I would be doing the project a terrible injustice if I don’t utilize it. I just don’t know how to get all these new pieces onto and into the script. There is a lot of Summer’s narration of her feelings etc., and I need to do some more studying.

My thoughts are simply this. I need to take the next year working on my health and in the meantime, also work on the health of the Summer Ray story via in book form and in the screenplay. Fixing all the foundational cracks, will make for a more secure series. A solid foundation matters!

It is the building block of a home. The script is the building block of the film. Success matters too. But it is just working out the thought process well enough, to get them onto paper. I think we are about 80% there with the script. It has been nominated for awards as is. But I think I can take the, “as is,” and bring it to 99.9%. This will effect the entire series. I believe it is good enough as is. But I have always tried to strive for excellence with this project. I feel, in my heart of hearts that I need to at least try. If I can’t get it done in time to submit to this years festivals, that is okay to. I have grown to trust the Lord with the timing of this project. The second book series takes the first one to new heights. It causes it to soar higher than I could have ever imagined.

But now comes the daunting tasks of learning how to add narrations to the script, from Summer’s point of view via through her eyes. I honestly do not have to change too much. Some of those scenes she is not in and they stay the same. But adding to the script, will cause it to be cut. But that just means the series will eventually be longer than first anticipated. What have I done!!! Well, I took a chance and fell in love. I love the original series. I love the original script. I am in love with the new series and I will no doubt be in love with the new script.

So it’s decided. I’m on it!
