“YOU’RE THE AUTHOR?”

I love the title as it happens a lot. I am not really sure what an author is supposed to look like. But, yeah! I’m an author. At events or book signings, I am “the author!” We had an event yesterday that stopped me from doing a book signing. I had to help in other ways, so my books just sat in a box. I was the unexpected host – helping with tables, chairs and trying to make the vendors happy. It didn’t work for some as the weather and other reasons, we didn’t have the expected crowd. I just had on jeans and black shirt. I am not sure what authors are supposed to wear, or how they are supposed to act. But apparently, I failed at both. Yes! I am laughing. Because a few of the vendors were total jerks. I am a very quiet person. I sit and observe. I hate attention. I’m a writer, not a casual conversationalist. I don’t even end phone calls well. It’s like, “Okay Bye!” And when they still don’t hang up, I am like, “What the hell do I say now?” But I had originally intended to reach out to those vendors after the event, to try and buy some of their crafts for the upcoming film. I believe in buying locally and a lot of the merchandise was outstanding. But for a selected few, I have no intentions now in doing so.

It is how we treat people, when things don’t go our way that shows our true character!

But there was one vendor in particular that literally made my jaw drop.

This is a “junk journal.” It was made by Jude of JudetheThird. To view her other journals, please visit: https://www.etsy.com/shop/JudetheThird. I HAD to buy it as I am using it in the films. But this particular journal, there is a place for it later in the series. I also need to buy one of her other journals that will definitely be in the upcoming pilot. I had someone once tell me, “You’re just the author!” He wonders why I removed him. Pretty sure without my being the author, you cannot work on my project. Common sense would tell you that without me, there is no project to work on. I get that my field of work, is in story telling. But to push me aside and degrade me isn’t really beneficial, seeing how this is my film project. I am also the screenplay writer, which my script has been nominated several times. I am also, for now, the producer. As previously stated, I am not sure what an author is supposed to look like. I try not to draw attention to myself. But I also realize that if God wants me to help people, if we are to truly help, “Light the World,” I cannot remain hidden in the shadows. I just do not have the public relation skills, to bring me out of my shell. That job title is for someone else. I hope soon to find such a person. But until then, I just need to keep on doing my thing.

I am currently writing the first volume of The Memoirs of Summer Ray! I can’t wait to finish it. Thank you for being a part of our Summer Ray world.
