A CURVE BALL!

Pretty sure I am nuts. How is that for an opening statement! But yep! I can either sit here and ignore God’s leading, or I can go with it. But God’s way is always BEST. I can physically see the changes He wants to make and they are, of course, AMAZING! I have started to write the actual, Memoirs of Summer Ray in a book series. It will go along with the original book series. But instead of it being written in 3rd person, it is written from Summer’s point of view, in 1st person. It isn’t meant to replace the original series. It is meant to enhance it. I can also hear Summer narrating the film in some places. OMG! What does this mean for the two hour full feature pilot script? Yikes! Does it now become two, one hour episodes? Narration, can be tricky. I think if there is too much going on, viewers lose sight of the story and cannot marinate themselves in it. I have been thrown a curve ball and I either bend to hit it, or I will lose its significance.

Why not? It’s baseball season. A curve ball is defined as, “a pitch thrown with a strong downward spin, causing the ball to drop suddenly and veer to the side as it approaches home plate.” But also, “something which is unexpected, surprising, or disruptive.

Yep! I have been unexpectedly and surprisingly…disrupted!

So, I need to bend to the pitch that I have been thrown. I have already written the first two chapters of the new series – based on volume 1 – This Fair and Blighted Land. To view the original book series, https://thememoirsofsummerray.com/the-summer-ray-book-series/. In ALL honestly, I am in love with Summer’s story being written in her own point of view. If this is the case, the pilot script will also need to reflect that same style. It is back to the script drawing board. But the new short video will be finalized in a few days. I will then add it to our FilmFreeway profile, and begin to work on the script, adding Summer’s point of view. What that means is simply this. Instead of the script by passing the Amtrak train scene and Summer and Kat appear in New York City, in the new memoirs, it shows the train scene with Summer and Kat in first person. And because more is being added to the pilot script, I am guessing the format will all have to change to 60-90 minute episodes. This lowers our budget substantially. It adds more to the story and Okay! I am in. Volume 8 – Portals of the Past, will have to wait to be finished as I sort this new script and first memoirs book out. 🙂

Onward!
