NEEDED TIME TO GROW!

This is my 398th blog. I plan to keep on blogging and writing about our Summer Ray journey from start to finish. I hope I am encouraging others in their own journey’s as well. God rarely takes the straightest path to getting us from one place to the next. I haven’t always understood it. But the outcome has always been the best. If God granted us the funding years ago, the story would not have been ready. It wasn’t developed like it is now. It needed time to grow and to marinate. I think of a steak or chicken that is soaked and seasoned before it is cooked. But that marination is what makes it taste so good. There isn’t a lot of flavor without it. Summer Ray, as previously stated, needed time to marinate. It needed time for the characters to soak in their own personalities and issues. And let me tell you, some do have issues!!! But that’s the point. Who wants boring characters? No one!

This photo is a montage of just a few of our characters.

1). Union Lt. Colonel Jameson – he is in the past

2). Fallen Angel Woeburn

3). Myself – Author Juliana Love

4). Austin from Texas – he is in the future

5). Myself and my Figure Skating coach, Cathy. She plays herself as well.

6). Union & Confederate Unknown Soldiers

7). Witch and ghost orphans

8). Summer Ray and the suicide scene

9). Warrior Angel Sostar

So we have a Civil War soldier; a fallen angel, an author, a guy from Texas who is in the future, a figure skater and coach, Union and Confederate Unknowns soldiers, a witch with some ghost orphan kids, the leading lady trying to commit suicide and a warrior angel! Somehow, they are all intertwined and it makes the story unique. This doesn’t include the leading man, Union Colonel McDaniels, or Kat – Summer’s best friend. Nor does it include all of the locations and other time periods. This review helps to put it in perspective.

This Fair and Blighted Land” is the beginning of a fascinating series that follows Summer Ray and Col. McDaniels in their individual struggles to find peace and healing from the past. The author skillfully intertwines the two stories as she blends the present with the past, the physical with the spiritual. In a culture where ghost stories are multiplying exponentially, this book stands alone, bringing together angels, demons, and ghostly Unknown soldiers in a story of evil and good, unbearable pain, timeless bitterness, and ultimate redemption. Through it all, Summer clings to her faith in her ever-loving God, but she can never imagine how the twists and turns of her future will shape her and the future of Gettysburg. This book is easy to start but impossible to put down, and it will leave you longing for the next chapter, the next book, right up to the final climax.” RBrown

We are in our 14th year. I don’t regret a single second working on this project. I simply cannot wait to start production of the pilot. Please, if you are ever on Facebook, stop on over to our “OFFICIAL SUMMER RAY” page and like the page. It would be greatly appreciated. I will be giving more updates on that new page. Thank you!
