This is past weekend here in Gettysburg, we celebrated the 160th Anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg. Jason and I walked Pickett’s Charge. This is where brave Confederate soldiers marched across an open field, to certain death.
Later that day a thunderstorm came through town. When I saw the sun peeking through the clouds, we immediately drove up to Cemetery Hill and saw the most vivid rainbow I have ever seen.
We finished the night sitting at the National Cemetery and to my amazement, it was filled with lightning bugs. I added lightning bugs to one of our scenes in the Proof of Concept video (www.thememoirsofsummerray.com).
But to see them light up the cemetery where those soldiers are buried, it renewed my determination to persevere. I saw this on a flag. “VALLEY FORGE – Determined to Persevere.” I just wrote a blog about this on my other site (https://julianalove.com/2023/07/04/the-time-is-now-near-at-hand/). Perseverance is defined as, “persistence in doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success; firmness of purpose; resoluteness.” (https://thememoirsofsummerray.com/2023/06/30/firmness-of-purpose/). Persistence is defined as, “firm or obstinate continuance in a course of action in spite of difficulty or opposition.” We just have to keep moving forward. How do we do this? It has to do with having “bulldog faith!” According to Kenneth Copeland Ministries, it is described as, “Having bulldog faith that bites down on the Word of God and doesn’t let go; how to get aggressive in faith and take the promises of God without wavering.” https://www.kcm.org/watch/tv-broadcast/bulldog-faith-part-i; https://www.kcm.org/watch/tv-broadcast/bulldog-faith?m=1080477! I believe God has had His hands on Summer Ray since day one. He hasn’t let go of it and I am not either. We must stay determined to persevere and we will. I may not have all the answers at the moment. But thankfully, HE DOES! I just need to keep doing the next steps and I have quite a few of them that I am working on. It may seem like a long process and it is. But the outcome will be so worth it. By going the extra mile and doing things the right way…Wow!
