THE MEMOIRS OF SUMMER RAY

This is my 390th blog, since I first started writing them back in 2016. We have now reached 65 countries and Wow! What a miracle that is. So thank you, to all of you near and far, who read the blogs, books, check out the website, and are looking forward to the film. Our goal has always been to, “Light the world.” Eventually, we will have a, “Summer Ray Light the World Foundation.” This is so we can give back! We need to go into all the world the way Jesus told us to, and preach the gospel. The story of Summer Ray doesn’t actively preach the gospel, but it does bring it out in living color. Faith is the foundation on which the story is built. This journey to distribution of the pilot, is not an easy one. But I always remember what Colonel Henry Knox of the Continental Army stated after they crossed the Delaware.

“Perseverance accomplished what at first seemed impossible.

Perseverance is defined as, “persistence in doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success; the quality or fact of being able to grip something firmly; firmness of purpose; resoluteness, tenacity, determination.” Our fiscal sponsor, Carole Dean of From the Heart Productions, (www.fromtheheartproductions.com) once told me, “Tenacity is the backbone of a filmmaker.” If you don’t have that grip and that firmness of purpose, when it gets tough, you will let go and walk away from your project. It is that simple and it has been proven time and time again. It just meant that the roots of your passion for it did not go down deep enough. Periodically, in my blogs, I would talk about palm trees.

Their roots run deep and that system, helps them to withstand even a hurricane. So, when the storms of life come against our project, if we are like a palm tree, we may bend and sway with the wind, but we won’t break or be uprooted. Any investor can go back through my blogs and see how serious we are at standing and staying with this project. He or she, or a company can fully embrace our tenacity, our firmness of purpose and our grip to not let go. We will do our part to, “Light the World.” Summer Ray, is not just a name. It’s a mission! I thank God for helping us to persevere and for keeping us on track toward the finish line! We WILL get there!!!
