FROM TEN YEARS AGO!
2/22/2013
Not sure if this is going to help anyone, it’s a lesson learned. Overwhelmed and overloaded with so much work…it was like a gigantic puzzle that I had to somehow put together. Working non stop for the past 18 months, although I did accomplish a great deal, it only put a dent in accomplishing the whole puzzle. Obviously frustrated and wondering if I was ever going to get it all finished, I realized by the grace of God what I was doing wrong. So, I stopped trying to look at the puzzle as a whole piece. I have now started to divide the steps, block off the steps and put away the steps I accomplished. It doesn’t seem to enormous of a task anymore. I have books to finish, the first movie screenplay to perfect, the photography and the list goes on. But, I have now been able to focus on the pieces and not the whole pie. Which my friends, is quite a relief…”)
WHAT OUR PROJECT USED TO LOOK LIKE!

WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE NOW!

The pieces are starting to be laid out, and put together. But it took YEARS of learning the business and sorting everything out. We are no longer a jumbled mess. But it took ten, very long and painful years of diligence to get here. But this is how we know we are in this, for the duration of the project. We didn’t quit, when it became excruciating to continue. I kept writing blogs to document our milestones. Part of this journey is added to this book, https://thememoirsofsummerray.com/extraordinary-filmmakers-ebook/. But the progress made has solidified our commitment. We are just getting to the fun and exciting parts. There is no way we would stop now! There is still a lot of work ahead, but I do believe the hardest years are finally behind us.
Today is Memorial Day – May 29, 2023.
This is me at the Gettysburg National Cemetery.

I remember when I first visited this sacred place, and saw some of the soldiers as numbers on a stone. I was inconsolable. It was hit so hard with grief that I HAD to do something to honor them and remember them. This is why we have Union & Confederate Unknown Soldiers, in the Summer Ray story from start to finish.
THE GUARDIANS OF GETTYSBURG

Death doesn’t care what color you are. We all bleed the same color!
In great deeds, something abides. On great fields, something stays. Forms change and pass; bodies disappear; but spirits linger, to consecrate ground for the vision-place of souls… generations that know us not and that we know not of, heart-drawn to see where and by whom great things were suffered and done for them, shall come to this deathless field, to ponder and dream; and lo! the shadow of a mighty presence shall wrap them in its bosom, and the power of the vision pass into their souls.
Joshua Chamberlain
We must never forget their service; their fight; their sacrifice! Why? Because “where great things were suffered and done for them,” it was done for us!
