Colonel Knox stated the above quote after Crossing the Delaware in blizzard conditions.
As often as I can, I visit Washington’s Crossing on the Pennsylvania side. This is where some of the soldiers and one officer are buried. Right below that hill is the Delaware River!
Joseph Plumb Martin, a Continental Soldier, while encamped at Valley Forge stated,
“We had engaged in the defense of our injured country and we were determined to persevere.”
Both the encampment and the crossing are in the books, and will also be a part of the live action series.
Valley Forge, I also visit there every chance I get.
I know this is a choppy blog and I apologize. But the importance of persevering, cannot be over looked. “Persevere” is defined as, “To persist in or remain constant to a purpose, idea, or task in the face of obstacles or discouragement; If you persevere with something difficult, you continue doing it and do not give up; To persevere is to continue to do or try to achieve something despite difficulty or discouragement.” I had the 2nd book Savannah’s Calling about 99% edited. I was working on the ISBNs and barcodes – getting them filed. I do not think any of the other Summer Ray books, has overloaded my nerves more than this one. I knew I was getting close to getting the book published and it was a huge sigh of relief. Then SMACK! I hit a brick wall. I couldn’t get into the KDP website to publish the book. The two-step verification stopped me. My cell phone screen is broken so I couldn’t see the screen to get the code. It was my breaking point as this went on for a week. What was supposed to take 24-48 hours, took seven long days. I was a nervous wreck. Thank God, a very nice supervisor at Amazon got the problem fixed. To work this hard and not be able to get the book published, it was really stressful. But I had to keep trying and finally, after persevering, I was able to get the book on the KDP website. Savannah’s Calling, will be officially ready for sale in a few days. Thank God, again and again! I have already started editing Her Yankee Heart. But we are on our way to having all seven Summer Ray books in their 2nd edition format. I am still writing the 8th book. I am guessing it won’t be a second edition. But will cross that most happy bridge when I come to it.
