THE MEMOIRS OF SUMMER RAY

“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.” John 1:5 (NLT)

I remember the day well. I was all dressed up, my hair and make up done. I had on a really nice black shirt. But what I didn’t realize, is that I had also a white dot of something also on that shirt. But other people did. They saw that light shine out of the darkness and that hit me hard! We are drawn to light. The bug and insect world are too. It’s why you always see them at night, buzzing around an outside light pole. Martin Luther King Jr., once stated:

“Only when it is dark enough can you see the stars.”

“The world is all messed up. The nation is sick. Trouble is in the land. Confusion all around. That’s a strange statement. But I know, somehow, that only when it is dark enough, can you see the stars.” MLK Jr.

Times like this, I get all choked up. Summer Ray is meant to be a light and why I named her that. Or rather, why God gave me her name. I loved the name “Summer” and my friend’s daughter, one afternoon, while we were trying to figure out her middle name shouted, “Ray.” Eileen at the dress shop in Gettysburg (she is written about in the 1st book) gave Summer the last name “Sherwood.” But this story is meant to be a light, shining in the midst of such a dark and fallen world. On the back of my Summer Ray bracelet (pictured below) it says, “Light the World!” They will be added to the store once it is up and running.

Little by little we are getting things done and moving the project forward. Life and delays happen. But I trust that God has the timing of it all worked out. Some things are truly worth the wait! I just get anxious because of excitement! But Adam is extraordinary. His work (book cover) is above and beyond what I could have ever imagine. PRAISE GOD!!! I’m still anxious. haha! Once the book is released, I will post it.
