Every Memorial Day since I started writing the story of Summer Ray, I have sat with the boys at the Gettysburg National Cemetery. I usually visit them throughout the year, but on Memorial Day with the American flags on every gravestone, it is just so much more patriotic. I wish the flags could stay up all year in honor of these brave soldiers.
One of the reasons I became so involved in writing Summer Ray was for the Unknown Soldiers – both Union and Confederate, and the Revolutionary War Soldiers as well. In Philadelphia at Washington Square, engraved into the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier it reads:
“Beneath this stone rests a soldier of Washington’s army who died to give you liberty.”
It also states:
“Freedom is a light for which many men have died in darkness.“
Summer Ray is helping history to survive the future. The far out Liberal Lefts want to see our American history removed – you know the parts they do not agree with. Many of our monuments have been removed and/or desecrated. This is under the disguise of “Cancel Culture.” Those who are practicing this toxic behavior, manipulate and bring fear as a way of getting what they want. They are wanting to rewrite history to fit their narrative and banish anyone who disagrees with them. Well, here at Summer Ray, it is our goal to bring honor to our American Soldiers; past, present and future, and to stop our beloved history from being erased. We are shedding light on their personal sufferings as well as their courage, and resolve to stand for what they believed in. Summer Ray is not politically correct and never will be. We are American Patriots!
May God Bless the United States of America!
